You Gotta Be Kidding Me Cake

I'm ashamed, yet again, to call this a recipe. I saw it in an Amish cook book and then saw it online and decided...why not. Let's try it. My caloric intake probably hates me  but my taste buds were happy.

Here's the ingredient list:
Can of pie filling
Box of cake mix
3 eggs

Add all three ingredients and mix.

Spray a 9 x 13 pan with cooking spray.

Pop into preheated oven at 350 degrees.

Cook for 25 to 35 minutes. Until your toothpick looks clean when inserted into the middle. And done. Seriously,  that's it.
The pictures are from a chocolate and cherry cake. We've also made a pineapple with blueberry pie filling with which outstanding.

On deck we have a white cake with apple filling. That sounds pretty marvelous. And let's not forget the strawberry cake with strawberry filling that's also in the on deck circle.

The cake is moist, keeps well for days, and even the edges are soft and fluffy. It's baffling and wonderful how easy the whole thing is

  2. Oh, and you don't have to use a mixer, you can mix by hand with a good size spoon.

  3. I used a sugar free yellow cake mix and added the cherry pie filling. Delicious and very moist! Also tried the sugar free yellow cake mix with peach pie filling. It was very good. My husband thought it needed another can of pie filling. Today I'm doing the chocolate and cherry. Will see how we like it. Very easy and quick!

  12. I use yellow cake mix and peach pie filling in a Bundt pan. Glaze made the usual way but with Peach Schnapps for the liquid as well as 1 tablespoon of retained peach juice. Delicious!

  16. I’ve made this before & it’s great. Going to make again & try a cooked fudge icing on top tonight to take to a get together with friends tomorrow. I’ve also made a dump cake with the spice cake & apple pie filling with brown sugar, butter & cinnamon that was really good as well. New to dump cakes, but they are wonderful & time saving as well. Been in the kitchen cooking all day, this will be quick, easy & delicious to finish up & take tomorrow.
